What are common AC installation problems?

The most frequent issue is incorrect unit sizing. An undersized system runs constantly without reaching the set temperature, while an oversized unit short-cycles and fails to remove humidity properly.

Incorrect refrigerant charge is another common problem: too much or too little refrigerant reduces efficiency and puts strain on the compressor. Poor drainage setup is regularly overlooked and leads to water backing up, causing ceiling or wall damage and mould growth.

Bad placement of either the indoor or outdoor unit can restrict airflow and reduce performance significantly. Inadequate insulation on refrigerant lines wastes energy. In strata buildings, noise complaints from neighbours are a frequent issue when quiet-rated units are not specified. Unlicensed installations also risk voiding the manufacturer’s warranty entirely.

Blue Mountains Air avoids all of these issues through proper site assessment, correct sizing, and quality workmanship on every job.
